The 28 of May — Day of Amnesty International. On this day in 1961, British lawyer Peter Benenson called for an international campaign against “prisoners of conscience” after he read about two Portuguese students sentenced to seven years in prison for the crime of raising their glasses in a toast to freedom. From this efforts Amnesty International, the largest Human Rights organization in the world, was born.

The 20 of June — World Refugee Day, celebrated by the United Nations since 2001 to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, and to coincide with Africa Refugee Day.

Declaration on establishment of Russian-Georgian Civil Dialog

As a result of political crisis between Russian Federation and Georgia which has developed into military confrontation, the relationships between the two nations have sustained serious losses. The military confrontation and increase of political tension between Russian and Georgia  can be a cause for destabilization in the Caucasus region as a whole.

Today we talk not only about rupture of diplomatic relations between our two states, but about possible breaking off of any communication between people divided by unconscientious propaganda and anguish caused by losses in the conflict.

IRFS Chairman hospitalized after being Struck over Head with Gun by Police

June 14, in the "Alaturka" Cafe, an event organized by the "Che Guvera Fan Club" to mark the 80 birthday of Che Guvera and attended by a representative of the Cuban embassy was raided by police. Out of the approximately 25 people present, 20 were detained by police and taken to Nasimi District Police Department #22.
